Overview

Wireless temperature monitoring for complete compliance

Using a robust wireless network, Kelsius can communicate key data from a broad spectrum of operational points to a central repository within the Cold Chain Portal where data is processed and presented using sophisticated on-line software.

A large number of Kelsius clients are currently utilising the Cold Chain Portal to monitor the traceability of the cold chain in healthcare and pharma. Parameters such as temperature and humidity can be wirelessly monitored in real-time, either in a static environment or during transportation. This enables clients to protect the integrity of products and avoid product loss. Moreover, time-consuming paper trials are removed increasing staff productivity.

Other features that customers enjoy include the use of wireless data entry clients such as PDAs to log the completion of procedural tasks and automatically transmit the information to the Cold Chain Portal. Management can then easily view task completion helping them to improve quality compliance.

From simply storing company documentation to the reporting of environmental monitoring, the Kelsius Cold Chain Portal can be utilised to collate data from a wide array of sources and present the information in a user-friendly manner.

BENEFITS

No in-house development and operational support required.

Integrates with corporate MIS systems.

Customised reporting.

Access to data 24/7.

Enables sharing of cold chain information with colleagues, suppliers and customers improving compliance and productivity.

Real-time automated reporting , such as environmental monitoring, protects product integrity, avoids product loss and saves time associated with manual recording.

FEATURES

Central repository for broad spectrum of information.

Automated reporting service e.g. environmental monitoring.

The portal can be hosted by Kelsius as a managed service or operated as part of a corporate intranet.

Data integrity is protected providing an audit trial complaint with regulatory requirements e.g. 21CFR Part 11.

Supports 3rd party Data Loggers.

Paperless archiving.

Laboratory temperature monitoring

Laboratory temperature monitoring is essential for controlled storage and testing environments. The healthcare sector requires laboratory temperature monitoring to maintain valuable blood and tissue samples, medicines and vaccines. If temperatures fail it can cause irrevocable damage to samples and goods, therefore consistent lab temperature monitoring must be implemented to alert staff to any temperature discrepancies, and avoid sample wastage and the loss of important test results.

Laboratory temperature monitoring for pharmaceutical storage

Pharmaceutical storage in laboratories and hospitals commonly consists of fridges and freezers, which are inexpensive to keep and easy to obtain. Pharmaceutical storage needs to be monitored at all times to maintain the integrity of samples, products and test results, and lab temperature monitoring is used to keep a constant and up to date record of fridge and freezer temperatures. Previously lab temperature monitoring consisted of a piece of paper stuck to the side of the fridge for manual monitoring at regular intervals, however this no longer complies with healthcare regulations, which stipulate that pharmaceutical storage must be monitored 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Cold chain monitoring

A cold chain is the storage and distribution of products and goods, maintained at a set temperature level. In the healthcare industry cold chain monitoring ensures that medicines, samples and vaccines are kept at the required temperature level during pharmaceutical storage and whilst in transit. Cold chain monitoring is particularly important for vaccines being distributed to hot climate countries, and the transport of blood transfusions and organs for medical procedures. All drugs and biological products must adhere to the Goods Manufacturing Process (GMP), which is enforced by healthcare regulations. In other words cold chain monitoring must be implemented throughout transport and pharmaceutical storage to protect the safety and efficacy of the product.

Measuring and validation - the USB data logger

Pharmaceutical goods and samples are measured, controlled and validated during lab temperature monitoring and transportation using data logging. The set parameters are closely measured by technology to continuously record temperature levels and insure their safety.

At Kelsius our wireless temperature monitoring system uses a USB data logger to record and monitor all activity during storage and transit, and will alert staff immediately to any discrepancies. The USB data logger works by a series of sensors connected to your monitoring system and to the internet via your local area network.

We have portable sensors for cold chain monitoring, also connected to the internet via the USB data logger, and all information is accessible online 24/7. The benefit of our USB data logger is highly efficient lab temperature monitoring and cold chain monitoring processed online through user friendly reports, which alleviate time consuming paper trails and data records. The USB data logger also keeps an audit trail of all activity and corrective actions during lab temperature monitoring and cold chain monitoring.

The Kelsius system for your laboratory temperature monitoring

At Kelsius our USB logger and wireless monitoring system provides user friendly access to online reports and paperless compliance, for efficient laboratory temperature monitoring and cold chain monitoring.
